Harriseahead Methodist Church
Toddlers Group

Our wide range of activities includes drawing, painting, making cards, using play-dough and setting seeds in pots.
Importantly, drinks and toast are also served!  At the close of each session, we have a period for story telling and singing nursery rhymes.  The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and everyone pulls together at the end of the session when the time comes to put away the variety of toys and equipment used that morning.

There are frequent visits from 'The Book People', allowing family supporters such as parents or grandparents to select and buy books appropriate to each child's stage of learning and development if they wish.  Another popular visitor is the photographer, who appears during Summer time and then again during the lead-up to Christmas.  As Easter and Christmas approach, Chapel Toddlers organise fund-raising events for gifts and parties.  Another big highlight for everyone is when the children can take part in the Chapel's Christingle Service.

The main place for the group's meetings is the Sunday School room.  In addition, the Craft Table is set up in the Vestry.  Access to our meetings is through the High Street entrance, which is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We have two CRB-registered child-minders in charge.  Both are qualified to NVQ Level III in children's education and learning (management level).  The Group leader is Mrs Sue Sutton who can be contacted on

Harriseahead Chapel Toddlers Group request a payment of £1.00 per week per child.  Adults also pay 20 pence for tea or coffee.  At present we have about a dozen children who attend regularly with their family supporters.  We would be delighted for more children to join us.
