providing food and drink at Barnabus

• As part of Holmes Chapel's mission, a strong link is maintained with Barnabus

• Barnabus is a Manchester Christian charity working with homeless people, and people in the
  red light district

• Staff and volunteers help provide shower facilities, food, drink and blankets

• The Beacon Drop-in Centre opens 5 days a week to provide a lifeline to over 350 people, many
of whom have severe addictions or mental health problems

• In addition, Barnabus helps people find shelter and obtain ID, and assists them with benefit or

housing issues

• Barnabus has a medical suite with voluntary NHS nurses

• Weekly activities include classes in Maths, English, cookery and IT skills, in addition to
tending an allotment and joining in a street soccer project

• Barnabus is entirely funded by donations. This can be money or the food, clothing and
toiletries collected by Holmes Chapel Methodist Church and others
