Operation Christmas Child |
In 2003, representatives from Wellspring Methodist Church, Congleton, spent the day at the Wrexham warehouse of Operation Christmas Child (OCC), to help with checking and packing. OCC is a Christian organisation that aims to meet the critical needs of victims of war, poverty, and natural disaster while sharing the Good News of the hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ |
OCC began in 1990 by sending gift-filled shoeboxes to children in Romania, following the fall of the Ceauşescu regime. By 2002 more than 1,000,000 shoeboxes were being sent to 14 countries in Eastern and Central Europe. |

After
paying their visit to the OCC warehouse at Wrexham, the first of the annual services for the Operation Christmas Child
shoebox appeal was held at Wellspring.
There was a magnificent response to the appeal: a total of 217 Christmas shoeboxes were received from Wellspring and Rood Lane churches, together with pupils of one of our local schools. |
