About the Circuit

• A Circuit is a grouping of churches that, in days gone by, Methodist preachers would visit on horseback

• These preachers would literally 'go round' all the churches of the circuit

• Dane and Trent Methodist Circuit today includes nineteen churches and chapels and a team of ministers and preachers

• The Circuit area with its churches has been defined and redefined a number of times during its history since 1746.

About Methodists

• Methodists are a mainstream Christian denomination founded by John Wesley in the 18^th century
• 'Methodist' was originally just a nickname given to Wesley's followers.  Find out what makes Methodists special.

Where we are Located

• Our Circuit is in east Cheshire & north Staffordshire, England 
• The main towns are Biddulph, Congleton and Middlewich
• The circuit extends for 9 miles N to S and 15 miles E to W
